Our story
We’re not Finnish. That’s the point.
KovaSauna started the way most sauna stories do: someone dragged us in, we complained about the heat, and forty minutes later we were planning our lives around it. Löyly doesn’t check passports. It just asks you to sit down and breathe.

Why “Kova”?
Kova is Finnish for hard, tough, strong — first cousin to sisu, the famous Finnish grit. It’s what the heat asks of you and what the wool delivers. But we wear it with a wink: the toughest thing in our sauna is the felt. Everything else about KovaSauna is deliberately soft — the colors, the copy, the welcome.
Sauna culture can feel like a club with unwritten rules. We’d rather hold the door open. Whether your heat lives in a Helsinki lakeside cabin, a Berlin spa, a backyard barrel, or the gym down the street — the ritual belongs to you, and you might as well look quietly fantastic in it.
What we stand on
Three promises
One thing, done properly
We make sauna hats. Not forty products — one perfect hat in seven colorways, hand-finished from 8 mm of 100% wool felt, checked against a spec we publish openly. Depth beats breadth.
Tradition, translated
The felt sauna hat is centuries old — banya halls, Finnish lakesides, UNESCO-listed culture. We didn't invent it and we won't pretend to. Our job is translation: making the old idea feel as warm and welcoming as the room it belongs in.
Honest all the way down
Real wool, real shipping times, a 60-day guarantee without an asterisk farm. If something's a preview (like this store's checkout, until launch) — we say so, right where you'd want to know.
